Summer is in full swing and if you haven't taken a family vacation yet, it's time to start planning. Military families may struggle to find a time when everyone is free to take a vacation. However, there are thousands of museums, aquariums, theaters, amusement parks and other places that try to make it easier for military families to take a vacation. Check out these activities below, which are all offered for free or at a reduced price for military families during the summer!

Aquariums

Several aquariums around the country offer discounts for military families. The New York Aquarium offers one free general admission ticket and 50 percent off the ticket price for three family members. At Sea World parks, active duty military members can receive a set of four free tickets, limited to one time per year.

Discounts are also available at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Conn., the Birch Aquarium in San Diego, the Downtown Aquarium in Denver and Houston, the Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach and the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

Amusement Parks

Many amusement parks offer a discount for military families such as Six Flags, Kings Island, Cedar Point, Hershey Park and others.
